Overview
The Zimbabwe Defence Forces commissioned a complete insignia set for a ceremonial honour guard, including beret badges, collar dogs, and rank slides. Every piece had to match the official heraldic artwork precisely and present a uniform, parade-ready finish.
The Challenge
The brief demanded exact colour-matching to the national palette, crisp relief on small badges no larger than 45mm, and a consistent gold finish across several thousand units delivered in a single batch ahead of a national parade.
Our Solution
We tooled new die-strikes from the supplied heraldic artwork, hard-enamelled each badge by hand, and electroplated the full run in a single controlled bath to guarantee a uniform gold tone. A dedicated QC pass checked every piece against a master sample before packing.
Results
All units were delivered two days ahead of schedule with zero rejects. The insignia were worn at the national parade and the client has since standardised on our tooling for future ceremonial orders.
